Setting Your Birth Vibe
Did you know that your hospital room doesn’t have to feel super clinical while you’re preparing to birth your baby? This is your labor and birth, so you can set the vibe however you’d like!
Want to play some EDM while you labor down and push? Let’s do it! I’ll even turn it up so you can lock into your favorite beats while rocking through contractions.
Got a preference for the rainbow setting on my galaxy light? You got it, we’ll keep it that way!
Want the ambiance & aromas of a spa? I’ve always got essential oils on standby and come prepared with several options of low lighting. Birth still smells birthy, but a little lavender can go a long way.
As a doula, I absolutely LOVE making your birth space as cozy as possible. Feelings of comfort and safety actually feed the hormones that progress labor. So you bring your favorite pillow, blanket, and comfort items from home, and I’ll bring the rest to set the mood!
This is an option at all of our labor & delivery units here in Northeast Florida, and I promise you that it isn’t silly to show up with whatever will make your stay more enjoyable. As a matter of fact, our nurses are usually big fans of the vibe in the room, too — it can be great for everyone’s morale, as well as make birth feel less like a medical event and more like a birthday party!
